Human psychology would not and could not map
to aliens. But, behaviors could.
Cause and Effect.
In this case the behavior would be the effect and
the psychology would be the cause.
Alien behaviors would likely map to all manner
of human mental states, without the aliens having
to be experiencing anything remotely similar to
those mental states.
If you map certain behaviors seen in Chimpanzees
to humans, for example, we would be talking about
a psychopath!
For aliens to reach us they would have to be
intelligent, accomplished. I would expect them to
be goal oriented. I don't think they'd worry very
much about "Morality." They would be more about
the avoidance of negative consequences, not
offending lofty ideals.
They would likely seem cold, lacking empathy,
towards each other. They could very all seem
cruel towards us. If they came all this way to
learn things, and there were absolutely ZERO
opportunities for negative consequences resulting
from your dissection, why wouldn't they dissect
you?
Why wouldn't they cut out your brain, put it in
something that looks like a hamster ball & see
if you can roll yourself through a maze?
It was at one time very common for the cosmetic
industry to put their products on the eyeballs of
rabbits... assuming they have since slowed down
on the animal testing. Why would you assume
that aliens would act any differently from us?
"But we stopped most of that stuff!"
Why? Because of the scientists performing the
tests, or because of the people who aren't
scientist, who aren't conducting research in such
areas?
What I'm pointing out here is that attacks on
animal testing stem from EMOTIONAL and not
intellectual responses.
I honestly can't imagine aliens who could arrive
here being more like PETA and less like the
scientists..
