• Ping Burkhard - David Grumett article on Teilhard de Chardin

From Martin Harran@21:1/5 to All on Mon Sep 4 06:28:52 2023
I found this paper whilst digging into Telhard de Chardin's troubles
with church authorities. The chances are that you are already familiar
with it as the lead author, David Grumett, is a Senior Lecturer in
Theology and Ethics University of Edinburgh, School of Divinity and I
found this non-paywalled version on the University of Edinburgh
website. If you aren't already familiar with it, then you might find
it useful with your interest in the church-science interface.

Grumett and co-author Paul Bently were given direct access to the
Vatican papers relating to Teilhard and this article goes into detail
on the issues involved and Teilhard's reaction to the imposition of
six "propositions" by the Church authorities.

That doesn't look like a pdf to me.

It's how our self-archiving system displays pdfs in your browser - if you download it, it's just
    a normal pdf.

And also thanks to Martin - I knew some of it from a talk by him, but never followed it up, so
    will be interesting to read

Tried FireFox and a couple chromium based browsers (windows), comes
up fine. May have been something temporary.

Yes, going through it. Boy, has prop 4 hit them over and over
as science and knowledge passed them by...
