If former President Donald Trump wants any help taking back the
    White
House, an unlikely candidate has offered to step up to the plate:
    one of
    his ex-wives.

Marla Maples, Trump's second wife and mother to his daughter
    Tiffany,
revealed in a new interview that she's willing to help her former
husband's 2024 campaign and is even "open" to being his
    vice president.

"I'm ready. I am available if needed and I'm not sitting back
    anymore,"
Maples told the Evening Standard in her first interview in eight
    years. "I
want to step out more, share more and not be afraid of positive or
negative outcomes that come from speaking out."

While Trump is expected to soon announce his running mate, sources
suggested to the British outlet that Maples has the ambition and
    could see
    herself as his vice president.

"Someone would have to ask my ex-husband about that," she
    said with a
laugh when asked if it was true. "I'm open. I'm open to
    whatever way that
    I can serve."

"Right now everyone is just seeing how
    we can help,"
    Maples added.

Maples, who was married to Trump from 1993 to 1999, said she's
    forgiven
"anything from the past," adding that "marriages are
    challenging,
especially when you play them out in the media."

The choice of who Trump will choose as his running mate has left
    his
supporters and opponents on the edge of their seats as several top Republican names continue to be floated ahead of next week's
    Republican
    National Convention in Milwaukee.

Reports have named three potential Republicans as Trumps choice,
including Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), and
    North
    Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum (R).

However, others still considered to be in the running include Rep.
    Elise
Stefanik (R-N.Y.), Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), Sen. Tim Scott
    (R-S.C.),
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), and Ben Carson.

Trump has said he will announce his pick "right around the
    convention."
