There is an interesting discussion going on in the thread
"one more attempt, at druid new moon”
on the newsgroup alt.philosophy.taoism
in which it has been claimed that all the beneficial effects of
lithium come from the isotope Li-6, which occurs in a
much smaller proportion than Li-7.

If that is true then perhaps bipolar people could be treated
just with a low dose of Li-6, avoiding the toxic effects of
lithium.

Didn't years of taking lithium carbonate ruin your kidneys?
