"And now, let’s turn to the biggest losers.
#1. Lyndon Johnson.
Few presidents have managed to muster foreign policy disasters as muddled as their domestic messes. LBJ did it—in grand style. We went from Ike’s steady hand to the promise of JFK’s Camelot to the Nightmare in Elm Street. Forget Vietnam, if you
ever thought there was anything great about the Great Society, read “The Great Society: A New History,” also by Shlaes (2019).
It was not as if the asshole LBJ was actually trying
to kill me and my generation,
it was that although he realized that JFK's quest was stupid,
and useless, and wasted millions of lives.
But the bully asshole chickenshit LBJ was too
chicken to reverse JFK's policy, so he just
left the meatgrinder functioning until we got
a competent POTUS in place to get our POWs back
and get out of there.
The asshole just did not care to save our lives!
58,000 of our nation's best were killed.
#2. Jimmy Carter.
Carter inherited an America that looked more like the Cleveland Indians than Super Bowl champs. We were staggering under “stagflation” and saddled with a “hollow military.” Then Carter made almost everything worse. His greatest accomplishment
was losing to Ronald Reagan. Best to read about Carter in his own words: “White House Diary” (2010), by the man himself.
All true about Carter. But he always seemed to be a decent man.
Horrible POTUS though.
But I will always have a bit of a soft spot in
my heart for him, because he clearly pointed out to me
how I could become wealthy. Just take advantage of the
huge inflation, year after year that he caused.
Yeah, it was not "Get Rich Quick", it was
"Get fairly Wealthy Slow and Gradual". Go in debt
buying quality real estate, keep it rented out,
and inflation will increase your value and greatly decrease
your true debt.
Houses that Carter's HUD could not get occupied and then
sold for $17,500 to $22,000 to $22,950 are now worth
well over $550,000 and rent for over $2,000 a month.
Buy them, keep working, hang on through thick and
thin, and retire at age 54 a multi-millionaire!
Easy Peasy!
Cherry Pie and Cherry Garcia ice cream for breakfast for life!
