From Criss Uribe@21:1/5 to All on Fri Mar 23 08:10:00 2018
    Hello,

Is my first time in this group. I need some help with Lange surname.
I’m fron Chile, my Grandfather was Rodolfo Lange Granz, he married with a Chilean person and all my family in Chile is “Lange – Ovalle”, but my grandfather died young in automovilistic accident, and my grandmother burned all the photos, and never
talk about his again. So, I try find any information about my origins.

The information that I have is:
Grandfather: Rodolfo Lange Granz, Birth: 14 Febraury 1914 in Germany. His father was Ernst Lange Koch, and his mother was Maria Luisa (Marie Louise) Granz. Both German, and their lived in Bremen. My grand grand father arrived to Chile about 1930, he
lived in Valdivia with his 3 children: Rodolfo, Ernst and Else. Everyone was born in Germany.

I searched in a few germany's pages on internet, for example passangierlisten, die maus, but I don’t have exactly information yet.
    Any information will be usefull.
    Thank you so much!

No good chances, the surname Lange occours often in Germany.

Grandfather: Rodolfo Lange Granz, Birth: 14 Febraury 1914 in Germany.

I think his real name was Rudolf Lange. During that times children got
their father's surname in Germany. Was this different in Chile, at the beginning of 20th century?

His father was Ernst Lange Koch,

??? Ernst Lange or Ernst Koch? People have only one surname normally.

and his mother was Maria Luisa (Marie Louise) Granz.

Kranz is also a well-known surname in Germany but not used so often like
Lange. About the local distribution of Granz look here:
    http://www.verwandt.de/karten/absolut/granz.html
Most people with that surname are living in the Bremen and Oldenburg area.

Both German, and their lived in Bremen.

I searched in a few germany's pages on internet, for example passangierlisten, die maus, but I don’t have exactly information yet.

I think the best source could be the citizens office of Bremen (in
German: Standesamt). But these offices don't do such services free of
    charge.

    Hi Chr. Maercker.

Thak you so much for answer.

I know that Lange surname is common in Germany, but i have a little hope if I found information about the marriage of my grandfather, like you explain about the Granz surname, that surname is not very common.

About the second surnames, in effect in Chile sometimes it used two surnames, but not always. In that case, the names was:

    Grand-grandfather Ernst Lange
    Greatgrandmother: Maria Luisa Granz
    Grandfather: Rudolf Lange

Rudolf had a brother and a sister, their names was Ernest and Else. Rudolf was the middle.

I aprecciete very much the information about the webside and citizens office of Bremen.

    Best regard

    Criss Uribe Lange
