From Will Johnson@21:1/5 to All on Thu Dec 22 11:49:03 2022
    Wikipedia has an article

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Bryan

wherein it states that her first husband "with whom there may have been only a contract"

implying that they were not really married, just contracted

    I present two documents

    https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C5891518

    https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C7507516

showing that not only did she get pregnant, but gave birth by John Sandys

I have removed from the Wikipedia entry for Sir Francis Bryan (son of the above), the references to the now-defunct tudorplace.com, the personal site of an amateur genealogist. Such a site is not considered a reliable source for Wikipedia.

    MCA states

    https://www.google.com/books/edition/Magna_Carta_Ancestry_A_Study_in_Colonial/8JcbV309c5UC?hl=en&gbpv=1&dq=spice+of+black+notley&pg=RA2-PA263&printsec=frontcover

that John Fortescue was "born about 1479" as he was "aged 21" in 1500
I think this is a flawed statement

The IPM of his father does state that he is "21 and more" dated 1500
However he is also named in the Close Rolls in 1490
I don;t think they would so-name an 11 year old.
