There are other usenet archives - the one I had bookmarked I was
surprised to see still came up:
http://al.howardknight.net/ . However,
it seems to require the message ID, so is no good for searching. (But if
you do know the MID ...)

Yes (though some are a lot worse than others!); however, the generic
nature of the above error message suggests it's sadly a result of
something being automated, which I fear means its not going to change
back. I have a similar problem with reporting spam emails: I want to
forward them to
[email protected] and
[email protected], but the subcontractor my ISP (PlusNet) uses to handle email bounces them with a similarly generic message - something like they contain "spam or virus".
(Yes, that's the whole point of my passing them on to those recipients!)
