The BVI has been very lucky to escape serious impacts for several years
(Harvey passed us by), although flash floods devastated low-lying areas recently.

We now feel like we're looking down the barrel of loaded gun, with the
trigger about to be pulled!

Anegadians have been asked to evacuate the island, but there is a storm
shelter for those who prefer to stick it out

Unfortunately it's a big powerful storm....Ive been through
quite a few in Florida including the earlier version of
Katrina....but thankfully never had to sit one out on a low
lying island that is an experience I wish on no one. Prep
carefully Shelter well.

Thank you all for the good wishes! It does help to know that others are thinking of us and praying. Our team secured facilities last week, as we were to be closed this week. Today, I have heard from all staff members and volunteers that their home
preparations have been completed. Now we will try to get a good night’s sleep and pray that our preparations have been for naught! May H. Irma stay far, far away from all land. If that is not to be, may we all be safe, healthy and dry — our homes
