Polish bus manufacturer Solaris has announced its first order for trolleybuses from Canada. The
transport operator TransLink in Vancouver has ordered 107 units of the Trollino 12 from Solaris and
has secured an option for a further 400 units.
Just a few weeks ago, Solaris celebrated its market launch in North America with its first order
from the US. Now follows the first order from Canada. Public transport operator TransLink order for
107 units of Solaris’ standard trolleybus, which will be delivered in 2026 and 2027. Both parties
have also agreed on options for up to 201 additional Trollino 12 trolleybuses and up to 204 units of
    the Trollino 18 articulated trolleybuses.

The Polish bus manufacturer basically offers three low-floor trolleybuses in the Trollino model
range – the Trollino 12, Trollino 18 and Trollino 24 – which always have batteries on board so that
they can also operate in areas where there is no overhead line. The electric buses can also be
charged at charging points as well as on the overhead line. Solaris claims to have delivered 2,500
units in Europe last year and to be the European market leader with a share of over 60 per cent in
    the trolleybus business. https://www.electrive.com/2025/03/07/solaris-delivers-its-first-electric-buses-to-canada/
