Some might hope that the US government might have more consent under Trump. The results said otherwise. So the polling stopped after the 2018 survey.

chooses to touch this issue. Why?

Are they so sure that the US government would fail the "Consent of the Governed" badly again? Hence, poll
organization choose not to ask the question to preclude further embarrassment. On the other hand, if one read news analysis from American commentators and hear the US officials, both
group still insist America democracy is still pole star of the current world order. Why?

This study explored whether the tendency of chimpanzees and children to use emulation or imitation to solve a tool-using task was a response to the availability of causal information. Young wild-born chimpanzees from an African sanctuary and 3- to 4-year-
old children observed a human demonstrator use a tool to retrieve a reward from a puzzle-box. The demonstration involved both causally relevant and irrelevant actions, and the box was presented in each of two conditions: opaque and clear. In the opaque
condition, causal information about the effect of the tool inside the box was not available, and hence it was impossible to differentiate between the relevant and irrelevant parts of the demonstration. However, in the clear condition causal information
was available, and subjects could potentially determine which actions were necessary. When chimpanzees were presented with the opaque box, they reproduced both the relevant and irrelevant actions, thus imitating the overall structure of the task. When
the box was presented in the clear condition they instead ignored the irrelevant actions in favour of a more efficient, emulative technique. These results suggest that emulation is the favoured strategy of chimpanzees when sufficient causal information
is available. However, if such information is not available, chimpanzees are prone to employ a more comprehensive copy of an observed action. In contrast to the chimpanzees, children employed imitation to solve the task in both conditions, at the expense
of efficiency. We suggest that the difference in performance of chimpanzees and children may be due to a greater susceptibility of children to cultural conventions, perhaps combined with a differential focus on the results, actions and goals of the

Yes, consent of the governed, ie the people is the foundation of democracy. From now on, there should be laws introduced in which policies are introduced by people and its decisions are voted by people, and hence not by government leader and members .

They have to go out on a daily basis to see and listen to people's problems and should be paid in hourly basis and are not allowed to sit in cushion offices for more than 2 hours per day. They are not allowed to write cock and bull story on things and
issues that are not from the people.

By this way, this should be actually a true foundation of democracy, per se.

Democracy is always a matter of granularity in terms of group size and time duration.
No government can satisfy every groups every unit of time.

On the supply side democratic governance, i.e., the consent of the governed,
depends on the capability of the government in terms how much resource, both human talent and physical wealth, it has. On the demand side, it depends on the
citizens' willingness to play follow the leader to what degree.

In the experiment, the subjects were supposed to follow the demonstrator's two activities to get
a reward from a box. One of the activity was relevant to the delivery of the reward and the other
irrelevant. If an opaque box was used, relevant activity could not be differentiated from irrelevant
activity. If a transparent box was used, relevant activity could be readily differentiated from irrelevant
activity.

With an opaque box, both human and chimp subjects carried out both relevant and irrelevant activities.
With a transparent box, chimps subjects carried out ONLY relevant activity. In contrast, human subjects
continued to carried out both irrelevant activities.

Germane to the issue raised by the first post of this thread are these:
1. Is election irrelevant to democracy?
2. If so, what gives the US any semblance of being a democracy?

My HYPOTHESIS:
US system is a theocracy masquerading as a democracy.
Voting is irrelevant. Religious citizens faithful to their GOD given their consent is the defining feature of
US democracy.
