Why Trump’s China trade war retreat may be fleeting
If there’s anything that animates and activates the art-of-the-deal president, it’s being perceived as a negotiation loser

Trump and his surrogates are pretzeling themselves trying to spin this
as anything other than a disastrous climbdown. But there’s just no way
to sugarcoat the popping of champagne corks in Beijing today as Trump’s 145% tariffs are collapsed to 30% for at least 90 days.

145% tariffs make _some_ sense as the big show of the big stick before
going back to talking softly. It makes _some_ sense in fixing the
single issue. It makes even some sense in long term quite like
"be aware that Bush-3 may invade YOU". Is it wise or _strategically_
cost effective? IMHO *NOT*.
You don't win battles to lose wars.
