    I wonder where they landed ?

    I did see that a C-17 managed to pack over 600
    people in. If they'd had racks, they could have
    taken 1200, maybe 1800 ... the plane has enough
    lifting power. I wonder how many an equipped
    C-5a could carry ?

    But it's really too late. The mobs are now so
    thick on the tarmacs that NO planes can land.

    I'm surprised the Taliban haven't shelled the
    runways yet - or at least showed up and shot
    out the planes tires. Why let the "traitors"
    and infidels escape ?

    Reports are that there are still over 10,000
    Americans in-country. The EU has a similar
    problem. The collapse just happened WAY too fast.
    A large number of these people are NOT going to
    get out. They are running choppers off the roof
    of the US embassy, but how long will the Taliban
    put up with that ? Just a few shells and that's
    all over - and Joe won't do a thing.

    The Taliban cannot force foreign banks to invest. It's smarter
    for them to try to leave alone neutral foreigners.

    Embassies and neutrals can be attacked in war, but they are not
    targets of attacks except by idiots. If one country's embassy is
    deliberately attacked, other countries may decide it's safer to
    leave. Without embassies the host is going to have a hard time
    getting that country's banks and other funding to invest in the
    host.

    Iran had to wait some thirty or forty years to get its own money
    back from the US after letting the US embassy be attacked.

    I wonder how much screaming went on when these
    dinks crashed down on the town ? It was at least
    a 500' drop. That'd go right through a roof,

    It is quite clear now, CHINA is its international banker.
    China WANTS full access to Aghani natural resources,
    especially rare earths. China WILL finance the Taliban

    DailyMail has a video taken BY one of those people
    trying to cling to a C-17. The shocking bit is in
    the background - there are a BUNCH of people hanging
    from the plane.

    The video ends about the time the plane gets to the
    main runway - well, at least the part DM is willing
    to show .....

    At about 200 knots, human skin begins to flap in the
    breeze and shred itself. Be assured NONE of those
    clinger-ons made it more than a mile from the runway.

    Must have been a big badda boom when they took the
    short way down.

    So, you're sitting in your crappy Kabul apartment
    worried about what comes next and then some human
    body splats right through your roof. Talk about
    PTSD ....
