The Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) is requesting help from
the public to identify a man who attempted to smuggle contraband into the Walnut Grove Correctional Facility.
The incident happened on September 14 at 4:56 AM when the individual was
seen tossing a contraband package that got caught on the facilitys
perimeter fence. Officers quickly recovered the package.
The same individual was spotted at the facilitys perimeter earlier, on September 1 at 4:38 AM, but did not throw a package at that time.
MDOC notes that because inmates at the facility come from various parts of
the state, the agency is reaching out to the wider public for help.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers by
downloading the P3 Tips app or calling **Tips. MDOC emphasizes that they
do not need your name, only the identity of the suspect. Information
provided through Crime Stoppers may qualify for a cash reward.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
