An entirely reasonable response, you would think, to the actions of
these two (can you guess which two?) in continuing to deliberately
sabotage any attempt at a peace deal with the Palestinians.

But of course the Netanyahu Government is throwing its toys out of the
    pram over our decision.

    Another report, from Stuff/3News <https://www.stuff.co.nz/politics/360719323/what-israel-government-ministers-said-cop-nz-sanctions>
    which makes some important points:

    * Israeli settlers have launched something close to 2000 attacks on
Palestinians in the occupied West Bank since October 7.
    * David Lammy, UK Foreign Minister: “These two individuals ... have
been inciting violence against Palestinian people for months and
months and months”. Actually, make that “years and years”. They have
been key figures in the illegal settler movement, and violence
against Palestinians, going back way before October 7. Think of them
as just another of the factors that led up to that day.
    * Both the US and Israel are pretty livid over this action. But the
fact remains, as Robert Patman points out, that they are the ones
becoming internationally isolated, even among allies, over their
persistent denial of Israel’s disproportionate responses to
    Palestinian resistance.
    * This is not the first time that the NZ Government has targeted
figures in Israel/Palestine with travel bans. Early last year, some
extremist Israeli settlers were singled out. And on the same day, NZ
designated Hamas as a terrorist entity. So no-one can say we are
    one-sided.
    * For those who think NZ is picking on Israel, it isn’t the only
authoritarian regime in our sights. We have also done similar to key
figures in the regimes in Russia, Belarus and Myanmar, just for
    example.
