• Why Israel Has No Excuse

Israel, as the occupying power and with overwhelming military force, has
the ability to safeguard the civilian population in Gaza in the areas it
has secured, and root out any “terrorists” it might find. But this
requires its soldiers to be on the ground, mingling among the Gazan
    populace.

In other words, it requires Israel’s military to actually “secure” areas, as in take control of them and manage them the way a “moral” military is supposed to do, as opposed to just reducing them wholesale to bloodsoaked
    acres of rubble.

Instead, it chooses to shoot and bomb from a distance, using missiles, fighters, drones, tanks and all the rest of it, just laying down an indiscriminate blanket of death and destruction. And too bad if any
innocent civilians get in the way, they just blame it on “human shields”.

The “human shields” excuse is all down to Israel’s own laziness and callousness, nothing more. It’s ironic that they refer to Palestinians as “human” at all, given that they don’t seem to want to treat them as human.

They should follow the example of the Allies in the first half of
    the 1940's.

How would the 1st century Romans have responded to an attack like
what happened to Israel on October 7, 2023?

The 1st century Romans hated the jews, just like the ancient Egyptians
hated the jews, and every society since has hated the devious
bastards. If the jews had any balls they'd try a fight with any
country in the world with a powerful military (there's bound to be
plenty of jew-haters in whatever country you choose). They'd rather
engage in a war with defenseless civilians. If you believe killing
them is justified then the same exact logic must be applied to the
jews of WWII. Now that's a group that had it coming.

Probably less than they hated the Christians. At least the Jews weren’t proselytizing wild-eyed fanatics.

They didn’t “hate” them. They (or their precursor Hebrew tribes) were just
another minor subject nation, nothing more.

The thing with being part of an empire is, it protects you from being
    conquered by another empire.

You mean, in response to Israel’s blockade of Gaza going back to 2007?

Or, Israel having agreed to a ceasefire, unilaterally deciding to break it
    on March 18, 2025?
