President Joe Biden on Sunday told reporters that he will not deploy more troops to the Middle East only for the Pentagon to announce one day later
that America will be sending "thousands" of more troops to defend Israel.

I think it's one of those "Gotta do what ya gotta do"
sort of things. Can't really critique Joe here.

That seems to sum up the US-Israel relationship in a nutshell: the US says
it won’t stand for Israel crossing a particular line; Israel crosses it anyway; the US goes tut-tut, stops for a few minutes of therapeutic hand- wringing, and things go on as before.

Perhaps this might give you an idea on why is that, kind of shows who is
    who in this master-servant relationship:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu consistently brings bags of
dirty laundry when he and his family visit President Donald Trump in Washington, DC, so White House staff can clean it for free, according to
    The Washington Post.

"The Netanyahus are the only ones who bring actual suitcases of dirty
laundry for us to clean," an anonymous US official told The Post. "After multiple trips, it became clear this was intentional."
