New Zealand denies visas to Indian students
According to the article, and to news reports in New Zealand, the issue
is whether or not they are genuine students:
"Immigration New Zealand (INZ) officials believed the Indian students
who enrolled themselves in tertiary institutions were not intending to
study there, Radio New Zealand reported."
"The officials believed the applicants were not really coming to study
or they did not have enough money to support themselves."
And according to a PR flack for a trade association of private tertiary
providers, who make their money from foreign warm bodies:
"Radio New Zealand quoted Auckland International Education Group
spokesperson Paul Chalmers as saying 'Immigration was sometimes turning
down genuine students'".
Of course they are. They need to balance false positives (denying
genuine students from attending legitimate institutions) against false
negatives (allowing non-students to "attend" plausibly fraudulent
institutions).
And BTW, does your use of "Bharatiya" rather than original "Indian"
title in the article indicate that you are coming at this from a Hindu
nationalist perspective (e.g., BJP)?

But if TRUMP proposed a similar policy for the USA
the good lefties of NZ and elsewhere would rail against
his evil horrible broad-brush 'fascism' ... bet on it.
So you don't know that the US already has *more* requirements for
tertiary student visas than NZ? See <
https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/study-exchange/student.html>.
Among other things:
"Before you can apply at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate for an F or M
student visa, you must first apply to and be accepted by a SEVP approved school."
Then an in-person interview at a US embassy or consulate is required.
"Additional documents may be requested to establish that you are
qualified. For example, additional requested documents may include
evidence of:
Your academic preparation, such as:
Transcripts, diplomas, degrees, or certificates from schools
you attended; and
Standardized test scores required by your U.S. school;
Your intent to depart the United States upon completion of the
course of study; and
How you will pay all educational, living and travel costs."
I don't hear any cries of "fascism so far.
Lefties really truely believe their own shit don't stink.
I really do not see any connection between my post and the political
left. It appears to be your own hair-trigger bias at work here.
Hmmm ... I wonder how many 'students' coming to
US universities from the Islamizone are actually here
to study our weak points ? Just wondering ....
It's an insignificant percentage, since there are much easier ways to
get into the US, that don't require (e.g.) an interview.
Again, this looks like your bias at work.
And BTW, it looks like another thing you don't know is that the world's
largest Muslim nation is
