These ones are ancient videos, late 1980s, early 1990s. The
latest USSR. Manners there look rather funny but the studio
sound still sounds pretty fresh even today.
At the time, the Perestroika optimism had already faded, but
it was not yet clear that a period of deep deterioration in
life (the bottom was in 1996) was coming for the post-USSR.
A country girl came to Moscow from a remote Siberian village
and somehow became a top Soviet pop-star, for a few years.
Soon, in 1991, she moved to America with a naive hope of
continuing her pop career there. But she had no connections
with a lobby, American showbiz mafia refuzed to pay attention
for her talents (yet, 15 years later Lady Gaga plagiarized
some elements of her Soviet scenic image).
In 1996, the singer returned back to Russia, and after that
she did not manage to perform at least one new popular song.
Living in America killed her soul, she turned to a mediocre
vulgar woman. She gave some concerts, took part in TV shows,
but it was absolutely incomparable with her previous self.
Many people in Russia and in other post-Soviet states still
continue to enjoy your songs, but this only applies to those
early songs.
The sad story illustrates the fact that America is a home of
evil, which kills souls of people (turning them into zombie-
like species).
