Kia issues urgent recall for 463,000 vehicles that could burst
into flames and warns owners to park them outside
The company has called back 462,869 Telluride SUVs between
the model year 2020-2024 vehicles due to risks.
Kia has also issued a safety warning for its customers -
advising them to park their vehicle outside in case their
seat spontaneously catches fire
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration,
the front power seat motor susceptible to overheating due to
a stuck power seat slide knob - which may ignite a flame.

Kia's are pretty well liked by their owners - I'd
strongly considered buying one. However they DO
seem to have some serious ISSUES. A few years ago
some models had a weird oil-flow stoppage that
would totally nuke the engine without warning.
Then the Killer Air-Bags (not JUST a Kia issue,
indeed Toyota is most affected). Then some bad
transmission-relay problem which COULD cause a
fire. Now a stupid window-switch problem which
is even more likely to cause a fire.
Kia needs to have a major engineering-dept meeting,
and cut-out the usual $$$ obsessed admins. If they
cannot restore the brands rep then there won't BE
a brand like Real Soon Now ... just endless lawsuits
and criminal charges.
Honda is usually "most reliable'. It has always paid
major attention to engineering issues, takes great
pride in a "perfect" product. Korea and Japan do not
always get along ... but maybe it's time to bring in
some old Honda people ???
