Pro-Russian hackers claim THEY were responsible for AT&T outage
that left 70,000 stuck on SOS mode - but experts say claims
are dubious
Manipulated screenshots and other documents appear to prove responsibility
This strategy can be used to bolster a group's reputation,
even without real proof
. . .
The too-quick 'official' story was that it was
all just a bad software update. Nothing to see
here, no worries mate !
However this may also be a rep-boosting bullshit
line from the hacker group.
Nobody seems to be mentioning China/NK at all,
which is kinda suspicious unto itself.
In any case, the communications network is HYPER-complex
these days. That means a LOT of ways hacks can gain
leverage and do damage. Some ways might be obvious,
and thus well-defended, but increasingly the hacks
seem to be finding very obscure backdoor ways to
sneak into these systems.
