Long rambling speech by Putin on BBC, going on about
"betrayers" and "armed mutiny" and internal threats
    that can destroy Russia.

    . . .

Putin managed a hard fall-out with his own
best commando group - yesterday deciding
to arrest Yevgeny Prigozhin and some other
    leaders of Wagner Group.

Wagner claims Russia dropped a missile on one
of their bases and now the word is that Wagner
    has seized some Russian bases.

In short, there's a species of civil war now
in progress. WG is large, very well armed,
act like they're on steroids most of the time
and have a lot of connections and money. They
do the dirtiest of the dirty work for Putin
    across the globe.

Oh, and important, WG regards itself as
    ultra-patriotic and it's also something
of a personality cult. Putin attacks them
and especially their leadership and now
Putin is the "traitor" in their eyes.

Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin says he ordered his mercenaries to halt
their march on Moscow to avoid “shedding Russian blood”.

Prigozhin said while his men are just 200km (120 miles) from Moscow, he
decided on Saturday to turn them back to prevent killings.

There may be a lesson there. What happens when a group like Wagner or
whatever Blackwater is called these days doesn't want to play well with
    the official military?

Apparently Prigozhin will move to Belarus.

That is what's said ... but there's something WAY
too weird about all that. Putin owns Lucashenko so
Belarus is no safer than Russia proper.

There IS a rumor ... that this whole event was
organized BY Putin - to justify a large and
extreme crackdown on "traitors" in the govt and
    beyond.

It's not unprecedented - Erdogan basically did the
exact same thing not so long ago - and he and
Putin are a lot tighter than we'd like. Putin is
a chess-player, such a scheme would be right in
    his groove.

Well, Putin WAS funding them. They were his hit

    worldwide.

Where is the money coming from? Where is a good journalist like Whitney
    Webb when you need them?

I think the age of good journalists, even good 'reporters',
has ended. Too much money and politics tied up in "news"
these days. Also, with human and now plus "AI" efforts
we wouldn't be able to discern the Truth in the sea of
disinfo even if it slapped us in the face. We have
entered an age of truthlessness, dueling fantasies,
    surrealism, a Dali-Verse.

The only defense is "common sense" - does it make sense ?
    Does it smell fishy ?

(actually I don't think there were EVER "good journalists",
the nature of "journalism" is not to 'report facts' but
build a slanted 'narrative' around the

Long ago I found the best approach is to get "news" from
a number of sources every day. It's why you see me post
so much stuff from France24 and DW and BBC and even far
beyond. The rule of thumb is whatever they all AGREE on
is likely closest to the Truth. The rest, flush it.

Listen to the vid of Prigozhin and the champagne factory, his concern
    for Russia seems genuine.

Likely just a good actor - WG is a sort of
personality cult built around him. Gotta
have The Magnetism for anything like that.

ANYWAY, the Belarus Deal smells very fishy.
As such I suspect there is a lot more
skull-duggery going on here than suggested.

Prigozhin IS an ultra-nationalist, so I expect
he is in sympathy with all the wasted Russian
soldiers. But he's VERY close to Putin and
    Putin's money too.

Good evening. It's Thursday, June 22. Welcome to a new episode of System Update, our live nightly show that airs every Monday through Friday at 7
p.m. Eastern, exclusively here on Rumble, the free speech alternative to YouTube.

Tonight: American support for the U.S. proxy war in Ukraine continues to
wane. Now, almost a year and a half into this war – a year and a half – it's clearer than ever that this has become yet another endless war for
the U.S. to pour its resources and weapons into. Somehow, just six
months after the last full-scale war of the War on Terror was over –
when the United States withdraw from Afghanistan after 20 years,
incinerating a family of ten people, including eight children on the way
out, then lied about whom they killed, then watched the Taliban waltz
right back into power as if nothing had happened: the perfect avatar for
U.S. foreign policy over the last two decades – a new war magically
appeared that required that U.S. taxpayer dollars be yet again
transferred to the arms industry. The military-industrial complex, as
Dwight Eisenhower so memorably called it, with no end in sight.

Not sure what you have against Zel - he's doing
pretty well IMHO. He's got the country putting up
an extremely good fight against an invading
superpower and Zel himself is having great success
raising funds and hardware from the west so he can
carry on the fight. This is exactly what a good

There is some buzz about China establishing bases in Cuba. The nerve!

No, it's not really different - except it's China
instead of Russia. All sides here like to cozy up
to their opponents borders - some practical military
value but mostly it's a psychological coup.

Anyhow, we've basically let China HAVE all of
south and central America already. What's one
more tropical country ? Cuba continues to be
kinda shitty even after the Castro brothers
so any money/help from China will be welcome.

But what if China starts bringing in nuclear
missiles ??? Not sure we can get away with
the Missiles Of October thing again.

Actually, China has boomers and hypersonics so
there's little NEED to park missiles right
off Florida. They even have out a next-gen
AI "torpedo" that can stealthy sneak up into
harbors and rivers and wait years for the
communist call. Then it decides on the
"best" target. They ARE big enough to hold
a tac-nuke or even a bit bigger. We might
be looking up for an attack but get it right
    in the ass instead.

Somehow Zelensky reminds me of the Jerry Lewis telethon... It might have
been for a good cause but Lewis was one annoying son of a bitch.

As for the situation, Zelensky inherited a pig in the poke that started
with Euromaidan. More people than Nuland left fingerprints on that. In a
way I feel sorry for Zelensky. He may end up like Diem after he loses his usefulness.

I've only seen Carlson's show a couple of times when he was on Faux, and watched his first Twitter drop. He's amusing in very small doses but
overdoes the histrionics and eye-rolling for my taste.

Not sure what you have against Zel - he's doing pretty well IMHO.
He's got the country putting up an extremely good fight against an
invading superpower and Zel himself is having great success raising
funds and hardware from the west so he can carry on the fight. This
is exactly what a good president should be doing under the
    circumstances.
Try tuning-out Tucker Carlson for awhile .......

Somehow Zelensky reminds me of the Jerry Lewis telethon... It might have
been for a good cause but Lewis was one annoying son of a bitch.

This is exactly what he's SUPPOSED to do - get
outsiders to supply arms/stuff/money. He's being
a good president. Also, his fight is OUR fight -
a proxy war that's causing a LOT of damage to
Russia yet avoiding the very deadly perils of
    direct intervention.

Sorry, but I can't trash Zel.

Churchill did the SAME at the onset of WW2,
getting the USA/Canada to make a big investment.

As for the situation, Zelensky inherited a pig in the poke that started
with Euromaidan. More people than Nuland left fingerprints on that. In a
way I feel sorry for Zelensky. He may end up like Diem after he loses his usefulness.

You expected Ukrainian politics to be 'pure' and
'transparent' ??? Isn't anywhere ELSE, so why THERE ?

I've only seen Carlson's show a couple of times when he was on Faux, and watched his first Twitter drop. He's amusing in very small doses but
overdoes the histrionics and eye-rolling for my taste.

I mostly quit watching Tuck years ago - he was getting
just TOO "out there". Hannity was also unbearable for
more than five minutes. Now I don't do FOX at all.
IMHO they need to STAND for SOMETHING ... and management
apparently only stands for max PROFITS. This makes
them as bad as the rest of the MSM. There's also no
more "fair and unbiased" on FOX ... again like the MSM.

    So so sad.

    Alas we're plunged into a "Dali-Verse" ... surreality ...
no more Truth or even the slightest attempt. Propaganda
and more propaganda. Gotta check out a dozen sources
every day. What they all AGREE on MIGHT be Truth. What
    a pain in the ass.

It sure as hell isn't my fight. Exactly why do you want to damage Russia?

There may be a lesson there. What happens when a group like Wagner or whatever Blackwater is called these days doesn't want to play well with
    the official military?

Apparently Prigozhin will move to Belarus.

This is an interesting twist in strategy on the part of Ukraine:

Kyiv, Ukraine — Ukraine’s top military expert has said that Kyiv has to make a “strategic, principal decision” on how to benefit from the
    unfolding turmoil in Russia.

One such move could be an order to invade western Russia to bypass
massive defence installations on the 1,000-kilometre-long
(620-mile-long) front line in eastern and southern Ukraine, according to Lieutenant General Ihor Romanenko.

“Those who make unorthodox decisions and implement them will succeed,”
the former deputy chief of Ukraine’s general staff of armed forces told
Al Jazeera, adding that it was time to strike Russian forces in the back.

Such a plan looked like a “fairy tale” just a day ago, but the panic and disarray in Russia as troops of the Wagner private military contractor
march on Moscow may provide Kyiv with a perfect opportunity to deliver
the least expected blow, he said.
