Is "Conan The Barbarian" one of the best movies
ever made ???
It is chocked-full of "Jungian Archetypes", but
scaled-down to the practical, human, level.
It's treatment of personality-cult leaders,
aptly represented by James Earl Jones, is
almost prophetic at this point - left,
right, whatever.
It's a simple movie, little "flash" or even
attempt at "seeming relevant" - yet it IS
relevant and instructive. A very "human"
film. Today's seeming complexities projected
on a simpler time.
I especially liked the short dialogue
about gods/religions. We can see how
"omnipotent" gods evolved there.
Sometimes films are different than they
SEEM on the surface.
I don't know about it being one of the best movies, but I have listened
to all the Conan series books by Robert E. Howard.

There are some other books mixed in, but most are about Conan.
