. . .
THIS is the reason to ban gas appliances. Gas is
too damned flammable/EXPLOSIVE.\
Absolutely right! We need to get rid of all gas burning cars and diesel
trucks immediately. Als0 we need to learn how to cope with blackouts
when solar and Hydroelectric is not keeping up. Also when the wind is
not strong enough or is waaay tooo strong. I guess you could move back
into fireproof stone caves. Be kind of a shame to put all those firemen
on welfare though. Maybe a hand cranked generator would fulfill your
dream of fire safety. For the present time, I think I will stick with my
N.Gas fired furnace and gas guzzling paid for Vehicle. I will continue
to happily pay for the excellent convenience of Guaranteed Electric
service. backed up by huge fossil fuel generators. When a better
technology comes, then I will reconsider.
Seems like there's a news story a week about huge
fires or whole houses and such being blasted to
atoms - and that's just the ones that make the
national news.
Gas can be very useful/economical in INDUSTRIAL
settings, but even THEN you have to be careful,
as the giant chocolate-factory explosion last
week demonstrated.
