Although cryptomining IS energy intensive, I think that is just
the govts *excuse* ..... totalitarians do NOT want the serfs
to make money - they might get uppity, fund a coup ......

AI systems tend to be much more energy-intensive, but
we see they have not tried to ban any such research or
operations down in the barrio .......
