Argus: 40.5 Million Venezuelan Oil Barrels ‘Stalled’ at Sea
CARACAS – A fleet of 44 oil tankers, all of them owned and operated by a variety of international shipping companies, are currently at sea
holding some 40.5 million barrels of Venezuelan crude oil as the risks
of more US sanctions grow, according to a report by independent media organization Argus Media this week.
Of the total tankers, 17 have been idling for at least a week near their alleged destinations in Asia and off the Venezuelan coast, Argus data
showed.
