I don't have the right to lecture you while you're in your predicament, I am speaking
as a friend from our own experience in war in the Balkans.
Whenever our troops resorted to revenge, it produced only more bloodshed
and eventually, our generals had to go to the International Hague Tribunals
for war crimes despite just defending their nations.
Russian soldiers should be brought to justice if they committed war crimes,
or be sent to their mothers and girlfriends if they were just deceived conscripts
who have not made their hand bloody in this nonsensical operation of Mr. Putin.
In neither case there shouldn't be summary executions of war prisoners, for
it is very damaging for all friends of Ukraine. I understand how much hurt can cause the desire to repay evil for evil, but as Christians we should follow the advice of apostle Paul from Romans 12:17 "Do not repay evil for evil."
This may sometimes require superhuman strength, and this is why soldiers
who defend their homes and their beloved should go to do so with prayers
and faith in God and Jesus Christ in their hearts.
May the grace of God and love of Christ be with you all.
Amen.
