  • non-magnetic 1/2 inch optical posts

    Hi all, any one know of a cheap source for 1/2" (0.499") non-magnetic posts
    (2" lengths)? Aluminum or brass would be fine.

    You can get 6061 aluminum for $2.50 per foot from McMaster-Carr

    Sure, but then it has to be turned down (0.499) and threaded...
    for a few parts it's cheaper at Thor labs. I should have looked
    before asking.

    Years ago we had to have the machine shop make 'em for us.
