    Just because we can do something doesn't mean the benefits
    will outweigh the costs in perpetuity! It could take an
    extended period of time before all the true costs become
    apparent and realized! That's how we overturned lead paint,
    leaded gasoline, asbestos, CFCs, DDT, Thalidomide, etc.

    The case against DDT is open to discussion up to now.

    BTW recent discoveries of estherile mosquitoes could be a
    clean way of get rid of thousands of direct costs.
