The training of M.D.'s, as per the article, appears to have complete disregard for the Hippocratic oath. Instead, it reinforces authoritarian and sociopathic concepts and attitudes. The same is disastrous for doctor trainees, doctors, and patients. It is
one of the reasons for the MD shortage. There should be immediate legislative actions to address the problems mentioned in the article. The comments section of the article contains comments which are very insightful and appropriate.

The Medical Professional and all American citizens often work in and/or are profoundly influenced by the corporate environment which, often, has characteristics of the psychopath. Therefore, to better understand, adapt to and ethically address this
psychopathic environment the medical professional and all American citizens should understand psychopathic characteristics, their origins, their deleterious effects, and how he or she should appropriately and ethically address the same. The excellent
online article, "Corporate Psychopathy" by Montague Ullman, MD, addresses these issues. He emphasizes, in his article, that "victimization", is a paramount characteristic of psychopathy. Therefore, it is obvious that corporate psychopathy can have a
profoundly adverse effect on patients, medical professionals, and the health care environment, in general, through this same "victimization".

Dr. Ullman mentions the characteristics of psychopathy as described by the psychiatrist, Harvey M. Cleckley, in his book, "Mask of Sanity."
The Wikipedia online article, "The Mask of Sanity", goes into detail with regard to this book by Cleckley.
The URL of this Wikipedia article is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mask_of_Sanity
The characteristics of psychopathy as listed by Cleckley in this Wikipedia article are:
    Superficial charm and good intelligence
Absence of delusions and other signs of irrational thinking
Absence of nervousness or psychoneurotic manifestations
    Unreliability
    Untruthfulness and insincerity
    Lack of remorse and shame
    Inadequately motivated antisocial behavior
Poor judgment and failure to learn by experience
Pathologic egocentricity and incapacity for love
General poverty in major affective reactions
    Specific loss of insight
    Unresponsiveness in general interpersonal relations
Fantastic and uninviting behavior with drink and sometimes without
    Suicide threats rarely carried out
Sex life impersonal, trivial, and poorly integrated
Failure to follow any life plan.
Of course, individual psychopaths and corporate psychopathic organizations may not have all of the aforementioned characteristics.
In conclusion, within the medical field and through out the American socio-political-cultural-economic environment, corporate psychopathy has had a pervasive deleterious effect. It should be recognized as such and addressed with a very strict regulatory
environment and other means to diminish the extremely deleterious effect it has had on the American citizenry, patients, medical professionals, and the nation at large.
