  • Calcium Carbonate tooth powder: abrasive? Good/bad?

    At my local Poundland (UK equivalent of the Dollar store, minus the
    exchange rate), I've found "Eucryl Toothpowder Freshmint Flavour 50g".

    Product Specification:

    Calcium Carbonate,Aqua,Sodium Lauryl Sulfate,Flavour,Sodium
    Saccharin,Aluminum Hydroxide,CI 19140,CI 42090

    How does calcium carbonate compare to, say, sodium bicarbonate in terms
    of abrasiveness? Does it do any good or bad to the enamel?

    My sources say calcium carbonate is slightly harder than sodium
    bicarbonate. But both are far softer than enamel, so the risk of
    abrasion is minimal either way.
