• Date of the opening scene of "Casablanca" (2/12/1941)

From Ross Clark@21:1/5 to All on Tue Dec 3 09:12:53 2024
Yes, it's the date on the cheque that Rick signs early in the film.

No, nobody says "Play it again, Sam".

But Captain Renault does say "Round up the usual suspects" right near
the end, after "Major Strasser has been shot."
I thought he had also said it earlier, but no...
(Referring to the "Film Classics Library" edition which has all the
    words and hundreds of stills...)
An unidentified "Operator" says: 'Round up all suspicious characters..."
    (p.14)
Renault says "...realizing the importance of the case, my men are
rounding up twice the usual number of suspects." (p.25)
    I think that's all.

Today is about quotation and misquotation.
