    "The Dorset Poet" (born 1801).
    Wrote over 800 poems about his native county, in literary dialect.
    Also an "amateur philologist", and was an advocate of Anglo-Saxon purism
    in vocabulary. Some of his words:

    birdlore (ornithology)
