(days of the week in Chinese)
Monday - 星期一 (xīngqī yī)
Tuesday - 星期二 (xīngqī èr)
Wednesday - 星期三 (xīngqī sān)
Thursday - 星期四 (xīngqī sì)
Friday - 星期五 (xīngqī wǔ)
Saturday - 星期六 (xīngqī liù)
Sunday - 星期天 (xīngqī tiān) OR 星期日 (xīngqī rì)
I'm noticing that the number 7 is NOT used.
So, in this system, Sunday has the feel of a 0 (mod 7) -- reset to 0 ?
Monday as Start: The week starts with Monday being "星期一" (xīngqī yī), which literally translates to "week one."
in the West, there is ambiguity about if a week starts on a Monday or Sunday
Sunday as the start: Traditionally, calendars often show Sunday
as the first day, reflecting religious practices where Sunday is the
start of the week.
