  • Dual frequency GPS (L1+L2 etc)

From Peter@21:1/5 to All on Tue Jul 31 11:43:37 2018
There seems to be a phone which does this for Galileo

    https://www.euroga.org/forums/maintenance-avionics/9482-dual-gps-smartphone-navstar-and-galileo-and-will-there-be-dual-frequency-gps-avionics

but it would surprise me if anybody did a GPS chip which doesn't do
the same thing for Navstar - because Galileo is a "future is great"
thing while Navstar stuff is what is actually selling :)

The broadcom BCM47755 chip in this mi8 does potentially everything, but
i'm still awaiting reports on the actual gps performance figures.

Doing a google on this topic it sounds like one can get decimetre
accuracy by using L1+L2, and does away with WAAS/EGNOS.
