• Forecast models II

    Howdy.

After a pause of a few months, I recommence comparing meteorological
models and their value for myself.

    The previous thread: <[email protected]>

As I had do disqualify some models, I concentrate now on ICOND2 and
ARPÈGE. Even if the former covers officially only part of France, my impression is that the forecasts were better in the past.

    I'll see : <https://www.uplawski.eu/meteo/forecast_quality.html>

However, such comparison appears to be partly unjustified, as the
models also differ in how they focus on certain phenomena. A model
may be strong in forecasting winds another has more pertinent data
    on cloud coverage.

For someone who works outside and only needs to know what can be
done today and what must be postponed, all that counts is what
tables say in the end, no matter how ingenious the algorithm.

    Have a nice week-end
