hello michael uplawski, are you new to usenet? i recommend not using
your real name, anywhere online, for that matter.
Hello Whoever.
I am in Usenet since beginning of the 1990s and do not worry. I plan
to block every anonymous poster under the sky, for that matter.
No Spam here. But you can arrange that.
Cheerio
I’ve used my real name on Usenet as well, I think since
early 1993 (there may be a comp.text.tex post from 1992
but I think that was gatewayed from the TeX Users Group
email mailing list), and my current email since late 1996.
Before mid-December, 1995 it was
[email protected] .
I haven’t gotten much Spam, though it did increase
lately when I replied to what must have been an email
from a bot testing to see if my email was active.
I am a geophysicist, not a meteorologist, but I was exposed
to some mathematical aspects of meteorology and
oceanography in a senior level undergrad continuum mechanics
course at Memorial University and a graduate applied mathematics
course at University of British Columbia in 1985--1986.
But these days I often post on mystic matters, including my
belief in precog and weatherworking special abilities, which
I might comment more on next week, after April Fool’s Day. :-)
However I remain slightly active in academia doing some
scientific proofreading/editing and LaTeX consulting,
and may soon try to turn some scientific ideas I have
had over the years into an advanced age postdoc.
