Gentlemen,
I'm going to splash out on some new RF connectors and patch leads. A
lot of those are rated at good to 11Ghz for some reason and that's
plenty for me. Question is, who's making decent stuff currently? I
used to be an Amphenol fan, but they've transferred a lot of their
production to China with all the negative connotations that carries (justifiably or not). That's helped them keep prices down I guess, but
hasn't done their rep any favours. So: who's still making high quality
RF connectors and patch cables in the West these days? Let's not
bother with Rosenberger or Suhner as they're prohibitively expensive
as a rule.
Since I worked in Switzerland, Huber + Suhner were always my first
choice, but that has changed.
I found, to my surprise, JYEBAO both better and cheaper than Huber +
Suhner. For example, their matched sets of cables were better matched
than those of H+S, and of better construction too.
They even fulfilled a crazy request of mine, cables with 75 Ohm C
connectors at one end. No one makes 75 Ohm C connectors anymore, but
they delivered.
I have no interests in JYEBAO, but them fulfilling this crazy request
earns them a thumbs-up on my part.
They're in Taiwan.
