Wow, a blast from the past!
I have only just rediscovered Usenet (after a 20-year hiatus) and have
yet to find out whether something compatible with PGPfone is available
for Linsux.
Some of the better Telephony apps support encrypted connections over the
SIP protocol that interoperates with the Plain Old Telephone System
(POTS). But there was an annoying period of at least a decade where the dominant Asterisk telephone suite didn't really do that in a useful way.
