Yes, Venus have phases due to it's position relative to the Sun and the
Earth.
The phases of the Moon are also due to it's position relative to the
Earth and the Sun.
Perfectly described using the Heliocentric model containing the globe
Earth model.
But, to understand that, you need to be able to think in 3D. You can't.
You just can not think in 3D.
By the way, using an actual telescope is way better when you want to
observe Venus. And, remember that the focus control of a telescope is
NOT a zoom.
