Or more likely, from England to the U.S.

Actually, not such a far-fetched idea:

Take a boat across the Bering Strait, then bicycle all the way to France, and then take the Chunnel train to England.

The biggest difference will be the need to use ships instead of planes to cross the oceans.

The SS United States, last of the the Blue Riband winners, could cross the Atlantic in about three and a half days. This will tick off the jet-setting climate change hypocrites, but most other people will probably be fine with the trip.

For cross-continent trips one could still either drive or take a train. Sleeper cars are not that difficult to build.

Zeppelins are easier and faster than ships, if it don't go on fire? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hindenburg_disaster#/media/File:Hindenburg_disaster.jpg

Mean while play some poker in the ships casinos and make some money?

Maybe someday, when we're no longer at war with Russia.

My comment deals with what is theoretically possible, not politically advisable.

Most people in the world, including Russians, can (if they can afford it) travel freely throughout the West. Yet Westerners often run into problems or dangers if they try to travel to non-Western countries.

A Russian could probably bike from Moscow to the Bering Strait, perhaps find a way to cross it, and then continue his ride on through Alaska, Canada, the lower-48, and maybe even to Mexico.

And the Nat Geo will probably write an article about it! He will be a celebrity!

If an American tries the reverse, he will be probably be detained on trumped-up drug or terrorist charges.
