A long time ago I heard of the idea, that sound recording could have

the decoration tools worked like the needle on old grammophones, and
this sounds could be recreated by laser scanning.
Does anyone know anything about that?
Was it tried out actually?

Theory - If Energy can not be created or destroyed, When we are in a
room,
what we hear and what we see, is energy emitting from a source
transmitted
outward which then enters our ears and eyes to see or hear- Now what
happens to that energy when we are not in the room, it is still being transmitted outward from that object, everything in a straight line from
that
object would get hit with that energy or wave either light or sound,
right - is it
not plausible that if the target medium on the receiving end of that
emission
"adsorbed or recorded" that transmission in some way, clay, plant
leaves,
soft wood - we would be able measure it or some how "reply" it - Just theorizing?
