It is and has been complex tectonically, it didn't form only once due to asteroid impact, but that may have caused greater tearing apart. Arabia has been in a jitterbug dance bouncing against Africa, Eurasia, India since Pangea split off gondwana etc.

research, and they insist on 13 mya. Hm, something is very fishy about this.

they even mention the date of >20 mya. I mean, what a mess. This is
