Of course I know that finding environmental DNA, finding
ancient environmental DNA and the fraud that is paleo
anthropology ever allowing real data to see the light of day
are three different things.
But, if it's real, they not only could (and probably have) gotten
a glimpse of erectus, but a whole heap of other populations
as well.
