    I wonder if this stuff is a preservation bias. That, we find what was
    in caves or protected by ledges because the sun & weather couldn't
    destroy it.

    I know, neither are the case here...

    For all we know, they were leaving this stuff everywhere, going back
    a million years.

    Of course the real question is how can we test these things.

    Speculation is fun but it's all about imagination not science, unless
    and until we can put them to the test.
