The above made me throw up in my mouth.

I suggest you don't watch it if you have a weak stomach.

It's a video on Homo erectus. And it depicts Endurance
Running as it drolls on about tools.

    Enjoy!

Detour, mermaids & hairy brow ridges.
    Where did they sleep? Domeshields.

    :-D
DD has the brain of a mermaid: he can't stop talking about them.
H.erectus was the opposite: brains twice apes-apiths: shellfish! :-)
    Google "Joordens Munro".

Homo living near freshwater shallow crystalline streams, enclosed in dry domeshields (not underwater like manatees of course)!

There are small children in the world, right now, shoving objects
up their nostrils, many of them requiring medical assistance to
remove them, and they're all more intelligent than you.

    No, my boy:
    - Heavy pachyosteosclerosis = salt water diving.
    - Found in coastal plains = sea.
    - Shell engravings Trinil, google "Joordens Munro" = sea.
    - H.floresiensis on Flores = sea.
    - Etc.etc.

Of course, different populations went inland along rivers/lakes, crystalline or not, in Asia, Africa & Europe.
The best-known = neandertals: they seasonally followed the Meuse/Rhine... inland.
They were smarter than H.sapiens (we need longer childhood to find enough brain-specific foods?).

But only incredible idiots still believe their ancestors ran after antelopes.

"Fossils of animals that lived in the sea are relatively common in New Zealand, but the remains of ancient land-based animals are extremely rare."

Homo = freshwater. Manatee = freshwater. Both spend time around sea, neither stay there.
Flores small brained, neanderthal no trading, socially less developed. Trinil people walked there along freshwater crystalline streams. Mermaids diving for saiga antelope??

As long as I keep the trolls distracted, the rest of us can discuss human evolution. Domeshields ON!

Again, what are the implications of the chromosome fusion? There are those that say it's strong evidence for Out of Asia, because we don't find it in our African
    "Cousins."

I personally think that Dr Verhaegen is more accurate than you understands. That,
"Humans," or what we think are humans or "Close enough to modern" humans
    begins with erectus.

His erectus times nicely with estimates on the modern brain, estimates for the lose
of the baculum, with fossil evidence...

One could argue that, though Homo was on the scene prior, it looks like something
was holding us back, and that may be a physical barrier to interbreeding with the
populations that broke from the aquatic ancestors too soon. The chromosome fusion is a good candidate for that barrier.

So there's competing theories here. One is that arboreal ancestors, more arboreal
than even Chimps are today, sailed through crystalline streams in northwest African
caves, atop domeshields, eating trout along the way, growing big brains so when the emerged out the other side along the Horn of Africa or beyond into southeast
Asia they could immediately endurance hunt.

    That's one theory.

The competing theory is that there needs to be far greater access to mental health
resources for many people, and better detection of Special Needs children to help
them move beyond their cognitive limitations.
