It's long been stated that humans entered Europe via the middle east. But there's also strong even if unpopular evidence that people were moving
between Africa and western Europe across Gibraltar or vicinity. And none
of this changes aquatic ape.
Truth is the Mediterranean, for Christ's sake, which was significantly smaller during glacial periods. People love the coast, aquatic ape was tied to the coast so during glacial periods that meant being hundreds of meters out into what is now the sea, in many places. They were living there. It's *Way* younger than what we're talking about now but, check this out:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlit_Yam
What should astound you is the fact that the glacial period had ended, the Holocene warm period had began some 7 thousand years earlier, if we
ignore the Younger Dryas cooling, and some 3 thousand years earlier if we
start counting at the end of the Younger Dryas...
So this village was there even 3 thousand years after the glaciers were melting and sea level HAD ROSE...
Where were they living during glacial maximum, some some 12 to 17 thousand years previous? If they wanted to be sea side, and they did, then they had to be much further out...
So Aquatic Ape was in the middle east. Once there they could and did cross over to the Mediterranean and they lived along THAT coast as well, under what is
now dozens of feet of water.
Just because the social program that is paleo anthropology ignores this stuff, it
doesn't go away.
