As it says
Test received. We're down to three hens, mostly not laying. Our last
great flock member was "Turtle", an amazingly socialized hen who would
hop up and snuggle in your arms. She was taken--probably by a coyote--a couple years ago.
The main chicken house is the large model Eglu. Our original Eglu sits
out in the field, patiently waiting its next call to duty.

Wow!
I didn't think this group was active.
I have eighteen ducks/ drakes and a goose.
I had around eight chickens and a cockerel until last year, but I had
tomove my birds into the tool shed when a gale took the roof off their
"dez rez".
Now ducks are messy without doubt, but at least it's all on the floor.
The chickens destroyed everything, so I found a new home.
We don't have coyotes here, but a fox took three ducks and a chunk of the
head from one I still have. It's shaped a tad differently now, but has
healed fine and the duck seems totally unfazed.
Is this forum used much, it seems not from my reader?
If not are there any other groups dealing with poultry that you know of?
Anyway, thanks for the response, it gives me hope :-)
