The rec.sport.pro-wrestling Hall of Fame is a storied institution started by Scott Henrichs in 2005. Many great posters of years past joined its ranks during
its existence, but one stood above all: the first member, John Henry, who was voted in in October 2005, beating out Chad Bryant, Jeff Amdur, David E. Powell, Hack-Man, Satyr, FunkyM, Liz Michael, Krusty, Alex Cain, Bede, Bob Barnett, Christopher Robin Zimmerman, Brent Higinbotham, Herb Kunze, Torrey M. Spears, Brian Pillman, Chris Jericho, Jslater, Marc Mero, Pete Panaro, Scott Keith, Zoogz
Rift, Disco Inferno, Gryphon, Marc Ash, Don Martin, and more.
Recent information has come to light regarding John Henry's highly inappropriate
sexual preferences. Other information, such as alleged scams perpetrated against
sick and dying women, physical abuse of women, and drug use, has also colored this newsgroup's perception of him.
Other Hall of Fame enterprises have enacted suspensions or removals of members based on their conduct in the public sphere. Notably, WWE removed Hulk Hogan from
its Hall of Fame in response to his use of racial slurs, and Jimmy Snuka for being convicted of murdering his wife.
John Henry's Hall of Fame status has been used by some in this newsgroup as a fundraising tool, but in light of John's own confession today, it is time for a reassessment.
Please vote now on whether John Henry's Hall of Fame membership should be maintained, suspended, or revoked.
If you feel he should remain in the HoF, respond with MAINTAIN.
If you feel he should be suspended, respond with SUSPEND.
If you feel his membership should be revoked, respond with REVOKE.
To avoid abuse, only regular recent posters to the newsgroup may vote. Other than
that, there are no restrictions -- anyone who has participated in the newsgroup recently has a voice.
The voter roll is as follows:

RFD is a call to discuss (a proposed newsgroup, but that aside). The vote
comes after evidence-based discussion has hashed out initial concerns
and the reasons for the proposal have been fully explored. You have not
even presented one iota of evidence. Your claims are not even explicit.
They are vague suggestions.
Vote is administered by the Chair of the Board. Following the RFD
metaphor: You are not the Chair of RSPW. The Chair of RSPW is
Robert Stickler, who recently replaced Chad Bryant in the role. You
are not even a notable and distinguished member, such as myself
or Jason Todd. You have no authority to collect or count votes or
issue a final result.
No timetable for voting was specified. For newsgroups, after formal
voting begins, one week is allowed before the vote ends and a
decision is announced. This vote is open-ended and therefore
invalid.
No quorum exists. Sixteen posters, some of whom are likely
despicable sockpuppets, do not offer "protection against
unrepresentative action in the name of the body by an unduly
small number of persons," the definition tendered by Robert's
Rules. For a valid vote, you would first have to head to Twitter
and FB and let the body of RSPWers know that the issue was
under discussion.
Finally, the RSPW Hall of Fame is a permanent status. Never before
has anyone mentioned revocability. John Henry is and will always be
the first RSPW Hall of Fame inductee. This is an eternal fact not subject
to a vote.
I vote maintain, because John Henry has done nothing wrong, but
this is a farce.
