  • OT: Someone here was going crazy for 200 fentanyl deaths per year...

    From Alan@21:1/5 to All on Mon Aug 29 15:03:03 2022
    ...and suggesting that we should all be "outraged".

    COVID-19 is still killing more than 500 US citizens...

    ...every DAY.

    <https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/region/united-states>

    That is still more than every other cause except heart disease and cancer...

    <https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/deaths.htm>

    ...and there's no vaccine for either of those.

    So many lies, Alan.

    As of today, 28 August, the 7-day MA COVID deaths is 396, not more than 500. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#trends_dailydeaths_select_00

    I think you missed something here. 200 fentanyl deaths per year? Fentanyl is killing over 150 a day, and is the leading cause of deaths among 18-45 year old adults.
    https://mainepolicy.org/fentanyl-now-the-leading-cause-of-death-for-adults-ages-18-to-45/

    Yes, COVID is still an issue, but to denigrate fentanyl is just wrong.

    Really, not checking the data again? An other lie by omission?

    I was under no obligation to do so.

    How do you figure that?
